What do you get when you cross J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg? Cloverfield meets E.T. called Super 8. The new trailer to Super 8 has just been released, revealing more about the top secret project from the two biggest names in Hollywood.
In the Super 8 trailer, the trailer begins with a group of young friends making their monster movie set in the summer of 1979. The feel of the preview so far definitely reminds you of Steven Spielberg's early films. When the friends are shooting their movie with --you guessed it-- a Super 8 Camera, a train derailment changes everything including the tone of the preview. The trailer switches gears into a monster movie.
Something in one of the derailed cargo cars marked US Air Force wants out. People and dogs start disappearing in the town and the Deputy suspects a monster is on the loose.
In J.J. Abrams fashion, the monster in question is not seen, so expect to wait to find out what it is when the Steven Spielberg-produced film opens June 10.
