Marvel Co-President Louis D'Esposito talks Agent Carter, Future of Iron Man, Pepper Potts Franchise

Marvel Co-President Louis D' Esposito moved behind the camera once again to direct Marvel's one-shot short, Agent Carter. He talks the future of women in the Marvel Universe, whether we'll see a Pepper Potts franchise with Gwyneth Paltrow and if we should expect another Iron Man movie.
>Louis D'Esposito holds the secrets to the Marvel Universe so when CineMovie sat down with him to talk Marvel's One-Shot: Agent Carter, we hit him up for some answers regarding the return of Iron Man and if we can anticipate more strong females in the Marvel Universe. For Phase 2 of Marvel's master plan includes a new television series this Fall with S.H.I.E.L.D., a sequel to Thor (The Dark World) in November, followed by the Captain America sequel (The Winter Soldier) in April 2014. Guardians of the Galaxy, a non-sequel, follows on August 1, 2014. In 2015, expect the anticipated return of all the Avenger in Avengers: Age of Ultron on May 1st and another original movie, Edgar Wright's Ant-Man in late 2015. James Spader was recently announced as joining the cast of the Avengers sequel as Ultron, but D'Esposito couldn't say whether it would be a voiced role or perhaps a motion capture performance.As for an Iron Man 4 movie, the Agent Carter director says a fourth film is not currently in the works given that they have a full slate and Robert Downey Jr.'s decision not to reprise his role for another solo film. Downey will most likely return in the Avengers sequel. D'Esposito did confirm that eventually there will be another Iron Man movie given the popularity, but there are no immediate plans.
While there are women among the ensemble cast of Marvel movie adaptations, none have their own franchise. Hayley Atwell reprises her role as Peggy Carter in Marvel's new One-Shot short, Agent Carter and becomes the first female to head a Marvel movie, albeit a short. The latest one-shot appears as an extra on the release of Iron Man 3 on Blu-ray and DVD September 24.
Most recently, Marvel announced Peggy Carter may be getting her own television series. CineMovie asked Marvel's co-president about other females heading up their own franchises. D'Esposito says they don't "make a conscious effort" to find female superheroes but Agent Carter seemed like the right fit for a short. Speaking of females superheroes, now that Pepper Potts played by Gwyneth Paltrow in Iron Man 3 has obtained special powers, will she be getting her own movie? Paltrow told CineMovie she would be more than interested in becoming the comic book alter ego, Rescue. D'Esposito says there are no immediate plans for a Pepper Potts movie with all the Marvel films already in the works. However, that doesn't stop it from being a possibility. The Marvel executive says the company often goes as far as writing a script, but they don't necessarily green light everything.
