Paul Walker, the Fast & Furious star, lost his life in a tragic car accident Thanksgiving weekend. CineMovie sat down with the 40-year-old actor just two weeks earlier to talk about his new movie HOURS, a film which could’ve been a career changer for him.

CineMovie was sad to hear about Paul Walker's death especially after having sat down with the humble actor who didn’t come off as a movie star, but an everyday man having a conversation about work.  Paul was even bare foot during the interview, which made sense for a guy who is very casual about his Hollywood status. Those qualities are rare in an actor so it made quite an impression on me and when the news hit that he was gone from this world, it made it all the worse news.  Having worked in publicity and promotions prior to CineMovie, I had come across Paul Walker over the years and he hadn't changed even with success of the Fast & Furious.

Recently, Paul Walker was not only shooting the 7th installment of the Fast & Furious, but he was out promoting his new movie HOURS, a drama set against Hurricane Katrina in which he races against time to keep his newborn baby girl alive after his wife dies while giving birth. The role is different for Walker in that he’s acting solo for the majority of the film as a desperate father and showcasing his talents as a dramatic actor. He also produced the film which opens December 13.

In our sit down, not only does he talk about his film, but about his work ethic and always being ready for work and  on time. That work ethic was instilled in him from his father who made him learn a trade every summer. He hints that not everybody in Hollywood follows that work ethic and often hold up production.  Growing up in the San Fernando Valley also exposed him to many Latinos, which explains why he’s starred with so many Latina actresses such as his HOURS co-star Genesis Rodriguez, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Jordana Brewster and Zoe Saldana.

HOURS will be released December 13 in selected theaters and Video On Demand.
