Hollywood has long projected the American action hero around the world as this sort of cowboy riding in to save the day, or as the white savior who will deliver people of color to freedom like in Liam Neeson’s most recent film THE MARKSMAN. Have the recent political events hurt the American hero image as well? THE FOREVER PURGE is the first movie to reflect that shift in attitude towards the American image.

A new Disney+ series takes viewers behind the scenes of the Disneyland attractions with a 10-part series, Behind the Attraction! produced by Dwayne Johnson's production company. Imagineers reveal what's "behind the curtain" in the making of classic attractions like the Haunted House to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. The history of Disneyland will be explored with archival and never-before-seen footage on the creations and how they've updated throughout the years. Watch the trailer.

SPACE JAM: A NEW LEGACY is more of a remake than a sequel with fancier graphics. Except in this follow-up, Don Cheadle is the MVP of this court rather than the star LeBron James. You get more of the same in his version with the Looney Tunes providing the laughs and over-the-top acting from the basketball star.

FOX is reviving the classic 70s show Fantasy Island with Roselyn Sanchez playing a descendant of Ricardo Montalban's Mr. Roarke. Donning a white suit like the iconic host, the new trailer reveals the show may take a darker tone than the original. If this revival goes the way of Black Mirror, sign me up. Watch below.

BLACK WIDOW earned the highest domestic box office since the pandemic began with an outstanding $80 million in revenue. Disney also released figures for the first time for Disney+ Premiere Access since it took in an impressive $60 million. With an international take of $78 million, the global sum was $215 million for the Marvel film. The gamble to delay the release from last year paid off.

Shark icon and conservationist Valerie Taylor has been swimming with sharks and filming them underwater since the 70s. The shark expert and Taylor's husband shot the underwater footage of real sharks for Steven Spielberg's JAWS. Taylor is the subject behind the National Geographic documentary, 'Playing with Sharks' as one of the few women who documented shark behavior for decades. Taylor talks to CineMovie about her underwater exploits with sharks and introducing Chris Hemsworth to a Great White for his Nat Geo special, "Shark Beach."
