While on the red carpet after the D23 presentation for the Captain America sequel, Anthony Mackie told CineMovie there's still work to be done and everyone needs role models that reflect the melting pot.
Growing up, Mackie says his role model was Robert Townsend's The Meteor Man (1993) and he would hang pots and pans around himself to the displeasure of his mother. Now he can play pretend and get paid for it when he dons wings to play The Falcon. Mackie says he not merely a sidekick to Captain America (Chris Evans) but an equal partner in the new Marvel adventure.
Mackie also talks to CineMovie about losing the bulk he gained for Pain & Gain (Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson) in a regiment that included less red meat and a lot of running which he's not a fan of.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER opens April 4, 2014.
