On Tuesday, Cinemovie attended a special “Sneak Beak” event for the upcoming ANGRY BIRDS movie based upon the popular mobile video game franchise. The one question that the game developer Rovio gets asked most is, “Why are the birds so angry?” Questions like these and the immense popularity of the franchise propelled Sony to create a mythology behind the game. Producer John Cohen shared some snippets from the film and treated us to a hilarious Q&A with funnymen and ANGRY BIRD voice cast Jason Sudekis, Bill Hader, Josh Gad, and Danny McBride (video below).

I think it’s safe to say that no 3D film has been able to accomplish what James Cameron did with Avatar. Blending live action with CGI is an art form that requires time, a lot of love, and heaps of money. Luckily for Disney, they have a ton of that. They’ve employed director Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Chef) to spearhead a live action remake of THE JUNGLE BOOK that takes the most current digital technology and pushes it to it’s limits--Watch out James Cameron! At a recent sneak peak CineMovie attended for THE JUNGLE BOOK, Favreau and visual effect’s supervisor Rob Legato showed us exclusive scenes from the movie and demonstrated why the films digital effects and 3D experience will soon become the standard in Hollywood cinema.

Short+Sweet Festival Returns To Los Angeles

In its second US Anniversary, Short+Sweet will debut Short+Sweet LATINO as part of the Hollywood 2017 Season. Short+Sweet, the biggest, short-play festival in the world will present its first Short+Sweet LATINO! edition as part of the Short+Sweet Hollywood 2017 season on August 10-13 at the Stella Adler Theater (6773 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028), with Bruno Bichir as its godfather. The festival will include 13 10-minute plays in Spanish, English and of course, Spanglish that will range in topics, such as faith, immigration, infidelity, murder, treason, jugglers, hookers, luchadores and politics.

Lucha VaVoom Takeover: Prime Video Hosts Cassandro Wrestling Event

Lucha Libre wrestler Saúl Armendáriz known by his lucha name, Cassandro changed Mexican wrestling. Gael Garcia Bernal plays the flamboyant wrestler in Prime Video's CASSANDRO, now streaming on the platform.  Prime Video took over the wrestling ring for the one-night Lucha VaVoom event at the iconic Mayan Theater in Downtown Los Angeles with entertaining matches and burlesque dancing.  See some of the highlights from the event.

'Star Wars’ Ahsoka Premiere For Fans and their Lightsabers in 5 Cities

Ahsoka Star Wars fan event in Hollywood

Due to the actor strike, Disney and Lucasfilm opted to hold a Star Wars fan event for the Ahsoka premiere in Hollywood, Disneyland, Disney World, San Francisco and New York City, and the Hollywood event was a blast. Many of the attendees dressed in costume, and brought their lightsabers. Disney also handed out white light sabers to those without a Jedi weapon. Watch the highlights from the Hollywood event held at El Capitan Theater.
