Earlier this week, the first film clip with Johansson's Black Widow, the only female Avenger, was released showing off her special skills as a professional assassin during an aborted mission. As director Joss Whedon ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer") does best, the clip is a taste of action mixed in with humor. Black Widow is on the phone with Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) while she's tied up to a chair during an interrogation. Agent Coulson advises her to abort her mission due to another breach, but she refuses to give up because she has them where she wants them revealing the information she needs which is the opposite of what we are seeing. She tells the Agent to please hold on the line as she unleashes no mercy on her captors.
Two television spots were also released with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) giving Loki (Tom Hiddleston) a headcount of what he's up against with the Avengers and another clip with a look at the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier.
