On December 6, COWBOYS & ALIENS arrives on DVD and Blu-ray, but it's the Blu-ray release you'll want to own for all the bonus features and behind the scenes of filmmaking with COWBOYS & ALIENS director Jon Favreau. Based on Platinum Studios’ graphic novel created by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, COWBOYS & ALIENS will be available on DVD, digital download and On Demand with bonus features on the DVD and Blu-ray that include The Making of COWBOYS & ALIENS with Jon Favreau and the cast including the film's producers Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard, Brian Grazer. Other featurettes include Finding The Story, The Scope of the Spectacle which takes you to the set of New Mexico for the action-packed stunts, and finally a look at the creation of the alien from Legacy Effects and Industrial Light and Magic in the Outer-Space Icon segment. However, the Blu-ray will have additional segments exclusive to the disk like Jon Favreau's on-set diaries shot throughout production, a look at the practical re-creation of the Old West for the movie, and the director interviews his stars and crew. For those who enjoy learning about filmmaking will certainly get a thrill from the hours of bonus material on the Blu-ray.
The Blu-ray™ also boasts an upgraded version of Universal's Second Screen—a groundbreaking new technology that enhances the viewing experience by allowing viewers to simultaneously control and interact with the film and bonus material such as Storyboards and 3D models in a 360 view on a WiFi-connected tablet or computer as the movie plays on the television screen.
