GODZILLA 2014 First Look and New Movie Poster

The GODZILLA filmmaker and cast attended Comic Con this year revealing the revamped Godzilla movie will be an origins story and two other monsters will wreak havoc as well. Plus new images of the beloved Japanese monster reveal a much bigger entity that will be hard to kill.
No one need tell us that destruction will be part of the action in the new GODZILLA, but what else did director Gareth Williams reveal about the upcoming monster movie? Director Gareth Williams, Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen attended the press panel at Comic Con and they let loose some but not a lot of juicy details. Based on the Japanese film monster, GODZILLA 2014 is another chance to make up for the disastrous 1998 English-language film by the same name starring Matthew Broderick.
For one, GODZILLA will be an origins story. Edwards says Godzilla would be tied to a different, more contemporary issue rather than the original atomic bomb testing that was part of the story in the original Godzilla with Raymond Burr.
Edwards is not looking to just make a popcorn film.
“We took this movie very seriously. I’ve wanted to make this kind of a movie my whole life. “
When he arrived on the set the first day, he thought there was some kind of an emergency due to all the vehicles on the street. Someone told him the crowd was his crew – about 400 of them!
First look at the design of GODZILLA were released. The mighty Godzilla is much large than his predecessors with sharper spikes and a longer tail. Aaron Taylor-Johnson who plays Lieutenant Ford gave a little more insight into Godzilla. While on the set, he was told the sound of the monster would be a roar, followed by the sound of a rhinoceros fart. The panel joked that he gave away the monster.
Apart from news about Godzilla, Warner Bros. revealed before Comic Con that two additional monsters would be joining Godzilla, but the specifics of the monsters were not made public. Now this just got more interesting.
While the filmmakers and cast were hush-hush about more details on the Legendary Film, Edwards did talk sequels. Director Gareth Edwards mentioned an interest in making a sequel that uses the monster island concept used in the Destroy All Monsters Godzilla film. He was inspired by Pacific Rim which he really liked.
