RIDDICK Red-Band Trailer, Fan Art Contest, App, and Motion Comic

Universal is pulling all the stops for the next movie in the Riddick franchise with a fan contest, app, motion comic and the usual red band trailer. Find out how you can be part of the RIDDICK experience.
At Comic Con, a RIDDICK restricted trailer was released that gets back to basic and style of the first movie in the series, Pitch Black. In the third outing, Riddick, once again played by Vin Diesel, is left for dead on a sun-scorched planet with alien predators more lethal than the ones he encountered in Pitch Black. The only way to survive is to set of the emergency beacon that will have all the bounty hunters coming to enslave him including a couple of mercenaries and an old foe. Director David Twohy also return to helm the new movie in the series.In the trailer, mercenaries hold Riddick and as usual he taunts him with his charm before they are attacked by the alien predators. Vin uses it to his advantage and kills the leader played by Spanish actor Jordi Mollå (Bad Boys II, Colombiana). Plenty of bloodshed and kills are in this new preview, which should excite fans of Riddick's adventures. Adding Katee Sackhoff of SyFy's Battlestar Galactica should please them as well.
Besides the red-band trailer, a motion comic titled "Blindsided" was released on IGN and directed and produced by RIDDICK writer/director David Twohy. The story in the motion comic has Riddick claiming the Necromonger throne. Now in "Blindsided," our favorite Furyan ponders his fate as Commanders vie for the crown and assassins track his every move. The Necromonger Armada speeds through space en route to UnderVerse, but will this wanted convict take the vow to rule – or will he return to a life on the run? Watch it on IGN.
Then there is the app, RULE THE DARK. Users can upload their photo and see what they look like with Riddick's Eyeshine.

OFFICIAL RIDDICK SYNOPSIS
Riddick, the latest chapter of the groundbreaking saga that began with 2000’s hit sci-fi film Pitch Black and 2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick reunites writer/director David Twohy (A Perfect Getaway, The Fugitive) and star Vin Diesel (the Fast and Furious franchise, xXx). Diesel reprises his role as the antihero Riddick, a dangerous, escaped convict wanted by every bounty hunter in the known galaxy.
The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.
The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.
