At only 25, Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence has topped the list for the highest-paid actresses with $52 million in her pockets, according to Forbes. Scarlett Johannson came in second earning $35.5 million. Other actresses on the list include Melissa McCarthy, Jennifer Aniston, Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Anne Hathaway and Chinese star Bingbing Fan. The numbers are not soley based on movie salaries, but also include endorsement deals, in case you're wondering how someone like Scarlettt Johansson beat out Melissa McCarthy, Juia Roberts and Anne Hathway. At the D23 Expo, Disney gave fans a quick look at Emma Watson as Belle and her yellow ballgown in the live action version of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST during a sizzle reel of their upcoming films. Emma Watson made an appearance via a message from the London set in which she tells the audience of her dream come true in playing the famous Disney princess. Besides her message, President of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, Sean Bailey confirmed the cast and that the new fairytale is definitely a musical.

At D23 this past weekend, Ellen Degeneres, Ty Burrell, Ed O’Neill and Kaitlin Olson (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) joined the filmmakers behind FINDING DORY on stage at Dsiney’s D23 animation panel. Filming gets underway today on J.K. Rowling’s script for FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM. Set in the same wizarding world of Harry Potter, Harry Potter director David Yates takes the helm as production begins in England. Warner Bros. announced the news via a press release for the movie which is scheduled for release on November 18, 2016.

Going in, we weren’t sure what to expect with Paul Rudd as a superhero who becomes the size of an ant, but Marvel’s ANT-MAN turns out be as enjoyable as Guardians of the Galaxy. How do you celebrate Global Smurfs Day (June14)? By announcing a new Smurfs animated movie that will feature Demi Lovato voicing our favorite blue gal, Smurfette while Rainn Wilson will play Smurf nemesis, Gargamel. Instead of adding another live-action Smurfs film, Sony Pictures Animation is going the digital route with a fully computer-animated feature film titled GET SMURFY for the third outing.

We now know that the two new Star Wars movies will not be origin stories or prequels but anthologies, according to Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy. Star Wars Rogue One director Gareth Edwards who also appeared at Sunday's panel at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim also revealed the plot of the first in in the anthology series, and it may sound very familiar. Unfortunately Josh Trank of the other Star Wars anthology called in sick for the panel, and Kennedy offered no information about the other stand-alone movie.

There are no words to describe the feelings rushing through my body as I watch the new trailer to STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, which was released online after kicking off the weekend at the Star Wars Celebration. The familiar imagery and characters sent chills down my spine with the grandiose music playing. Now that's how you do it. Thanks J.J. Abrams. Thursday, SUICIDE SQUAD director David Ayer tweeted out a picture of the SUICIDE SQUAD cast during a table read in Toronto. This is the first look at the ensemble for the DC Comic book adaptation starring Will Smith, Margot Robbie (Focus), Jai Courtney (Insurgent, Terminator: Genisys), Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman (Robocop), Jim Parrack (True Blood), Adam Beach and countless others but missing from the image is the Joker Jared Leto.
