Lily James ("Downton Abbey") and Bella Heathcote call the ladies of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES "Spice Girls with swords" while Matt Smith (Dr. Who) describes the female zombie slayers as "sexy" in his book. The English and Spanish Mexican film didn't require The Hateful Eight actor to speak Spanish, and he's telling us what it was like working with Kristyan Ferrer who didn't speak much English. In THE FINEST HOURS, Chris Pine and Casey Affleck play real-life heroes who saved over 30 men during a blizzard in Cape Cod in 1952. As the heroes of THE FINEST HOURS, both actors are low-key in their performances, but the two actors say the real men were actually not the brooding kind nor hard-edged heroes like the modern day James Bond or superheroes we see today. Instead they took on a different approach and played the characters as old-fashion heroes in a film that's a throwback to a more innocent time.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays high-wire artist Philippe Petit in THE WALK, the Frenchman who crossed between the two World Trade Centers towers in 1974. The Robert Zemeckis film is very entertaining and a real nail-biter with an enjoyable performance from Joseph Gordon-Levitt, but THE WALK failed to capture audiences in North America with a take of only $10 million. Gordon-Levitt talked to us about THE WALK not performing well at the box office, and what really counts when it comes to his movies.
THE WALK is now on Blu-ray, DVD and digital download. It's worth checking out.
