Jackson was one of the first filmmakers to blog from the set of The Fellowship of the Ring over a decade ago. After years of delays, impending strikes, and director shifts (Guillermo Del Toro left the production), Peter Jackson has started filming the two-part prequel adaption of JRR Tolkein's The Hobbit. In Jackson's blog, he guides you through the sets of Middle Earth, with appearances by returning Lord of the Ring veterans Ian McKellan and Andy Serkiss. Newcomer Martin Freeman who will play the Hobbit Bilbo Baggins also makes his debut in Jackson's blog. He debut the blog on his Facebook and promises more to come.
The Hobbit part one and two will be shot in 3D, at 48 frames per second, a first for a 3D film. Jackson will certainly take his fans behind-the-scenes at the 3D aspect. Expect more blogs from the director.
The Hobbit Part 1 is set for release December 19, 2012. Cate Blanchett, Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom also return to the beloved franchise.
