First Look: George Clooney Returns to Space in 'The Midnight Sky' for Netflix

George Clooney returns to space in his next directorial effort, THE MIDNIGHT SKY adopted from Lily Brooks-Dalton’s acclaimed novel "Good Morning, Midnight." Clooney also stars in the Netflix thriller along with Felicity Jones, David Oyelowo, Demián Bichir and Kyle Chandler. Netflix released the first look via images for the December movie release with Clooney sporting a quarantine-looking beard. See the images.
Clooney first went into space on celluloid for Steven Soderbergh's SOLARIS (2002) and Alfonso Cuaron's GRAVITY (2013). While the actor is not playing an astronaut this time, he is directing the actors playing astronauts in THE MIDNIGHT SKY. Clooney is a scientist living in the Arctic who's racing to stop astronauts from returning home after a global catastrophe has wiped out civilization.
Synopsis: This post-apocalyptic tale follows Augustine (George Clooney), a lonely scientist in the Arctic, as he races to stop Sully (Felicity Jones) and her fellow astronauts from returning home to a mysterious global catastrophe.
