Gloria Trevi's origin story will be told in a biographical series, Ellas Soy Yo, Gloria Trevi for the Spanish language streaming service, VIX. A teaser trailer was released with actual footage of a young Gloria and new footage.
Debuting on August 11 on VIX, Ellas Soy Yo, Gloria Trevi stars Scarlet Gruber, Ingrid Martz, Lessy Hernández, Regina Villaverde and Jorge Poza, among many others. For those unfamiliar with the controversial singer, Gloria Trevi's was Mexico's Madonna in the 80s with her crazy on-stage antics, but eventually, she was imprisoned for her part in an alleged cult-sex ring involving minors.
Official Synopsis
Gloria de los Ángeles Treviño Ruíz, only fifteen years old, travels from Monterrey to Mexico City to participate in a television competition. A man twice her age watches her on screen. He will become her mentor and then her predator. For the next 17 years, he will subject her to a terrifying journey in which, after achieving success and fame, she will lose everything and will have to work hard to survive and rebuild herself.
