Industrial Light & Magic Star Wars Visual Effects

Filmmaker Lawrence Kasdan takes us behind the scenes of Industrial Light & Magic's (ILM) groundbreaking visual effects for cinema's most iconic films such as the STAR WARS franchise, INDIANA JONES, WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT and some most recent films. The six-episode Disney+ docuseries begins streaming on July 27. Watch the new trailer.

The Light & Magic docuseries is called an "immersive series" that takes the viewers behind the scenes of the special visual effects, animation and virtual production division of Lucasfilm. Kasdan directs with Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Kathleen Kennedy executive producing.

ILM began with George Lucas' groundbreaking STAR WARS franchise and continued with INDIANA JONES, and continues to today with work on TRANSFORMERS movie, James Cameron's TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY and Ron Howard movies.

Official Synopsis

Granted unparalleled access, Academy Award®-nominated filmmaker Lawrence Kasdan takes viewers on an adventure behind the curtain of Industrial Light & Magic. Learn about the pioneers of modern filmmaking as we go on a journey to bring George Lucas' vision to life. These filmmakers would then go on to inspire the entire industry of visual effects.

The series is directed by Lawrence Kasdan, and the executive producers are Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, Justin Wilkes, Lawrence Kasdan, Kathleen Kennedy and Michelle Rejwan.

All six episodes of “Light & Magic” premiere on July 27, exclusively on Disney+.
