THE LION KING'S Mustafa gets an origin story in Disney's new film, MUFASA: THE LION KING. The first trailer dropped on Tuesday. Familiar voices from the live-action THE LION KING return such as Donald Glover, Beyonce, Seth Rogen, and Billy Eichner, and Beyonce's daughter, Blue Ivy Carter join the pride along with some new actors. Lin-Manuel Miranda is writing the film's music. Watch the trailer and see the full cast list.
Told in flashbacks by Rafiki (BLACK PANTHER's John Kani), Timon (Eichner), and Pumbaa (Rogen) to Simba and Nala's young cub Kiara (Blue Ivy Carter), the legend of Mufasa begins as an orphaned cub. The young cub meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny—their bonds will be tested as they work together to evade a threatening and deadly foe.
