Selena Yolando Saldivar true crime series

A new true crime series suggests Selena's murderer Yolanda Saldivar knew of Selena's secrets and there was something more sinister that led to what she calls an "accidental" shooting of the Tejana music superstar in Oxygen True Crime’s Two-Part Limited Series ‘Selena & Yolanda: The Secrets Between Them.'

For the first time in 30 years since the murder of Selena Quintanilla, her convicted killer and her family speak out. In a series of wide-ranging interviews from prison, Saldivar details her working relationship and friendship with Selena, and she’s not alone. For the first time, members of Yolanda’s family discuss the two women and share never-before-revealed documents and recordings to show there was more to the tragedy than the public knows.

News of the new limited series is not sitting well with Selena fans and may cause some backlash as evident in the YouTube comments for the trailer.

The series premieres with back-to-back episodes Feb. 17 at 8 p.m. ET/PT and concludes Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. Episodes will be available to stream on Peacock the day after they air.
