The reboot of the PLANET OF THE APES is one of the only Hollywood resurrection we approve of. The two prior films deliver on the goods and provide a great morality tale. The third movie in the new trilogy looks like it will be on par with the other movies judging by the new and final trailer for WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES.
In WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel (Woody Harrelson). The new poster and trailer also reveals some of the apes are fighting with the soldiers, but what we don’t know if it’s voluntarily or forced.
After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.
WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES opens nationwide in movie theaters July 14.
