Goodbye New York City, and hello middle of nowhere. The setting for the new GHOSTBUSTERS movie takes it out of the city and to a rural area. Now we know where the original ghostbusters hid all the ghosts 30 years after the original movies, but don’t expect to see the remaining ghostbusting crew in this early preview. Instead all-new characters are taking the reigns but they happen to be related to one of them.

The new GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE trailer is truly an heir to the original movies with a follow-up story set in a new setting with brand new characters played by Finn Wolfhard (“Stranger Things”), Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon and McKenna Grace (Disney Channel). The old gang are supposed to return minus Harold Ramis who is no longer with us. According to IMDB, Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts are listed on the cast list but it only may be for cameos.

From the new trailer, we find out the kid’s grandfather is one of the ghostbusters which will most likely be Harold Ramis’ character, Egon Spengler. They find the proton packs which were used to trap the ghosts. Suffice it to say, who you gonna call?

The trailer reveals a lot as the kids and Rudd jump into action to continue the ghostbusting legacy. So can we predict the original crew will come in to help save the day?

While the lady version of the Ghostbusters was a bust in 2016, this new attempt is a true sequel to the original as the torch is passed on.
