'Haunted Mansion' Director Justin Simien Spent Hours in the Disneyland Attraction

HAUNTED MANSION director Justin Simien came into the movie as a fan and former employee of Disneyland. To further prepare for the adaptation of the famous attraction into a movie (take 2), he and his team took a tour of the Haunted Mansion for hours digging into every bit of the history, characters, and design of the spooky house. The filmmaker best known for Dear White People, takes us behind the scenes of the movie starring Rosario Dawson, LaKeith Stanfield, Owen Wilson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Tiffany Haddish and Danny DeVito.
HAUNTED MANSION will open in movie theaters on July 28.
A single mom (Dawson) moves into a haunted mansion and she enlists a motley crew of so-called spiritual experts to help rid their home of supernatural squatters.
Directed by Justin Simien (BAD HAIR), the film features an all-star cast ensemble cast including LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Chase W. Dillon and Daniel Levy, with Jamie Lee Curtis and Jared Leto as The Hatbox Ghost.
