'Lucifer's' Scarlett Estevez & JJ Villarreal Talk Disney's Superhero Luchadores in Ultra Violet and Black Scorpion

Scarlett Estevez and JJ Villarreal on Disney Dhannel series Ultra Violet and Black Scorpion

Lucifer’s Scarlett Estevez (DADDY'S HOME) is all grown up and fighting crime with J.J. Villarreal as luchador superheroes on Disney Channel’s Ultra Violet and Black Scorpion. CineMovie sat down with the actors to talk about the new series, and how the Lucha libre culture will be a big part of the Disney series.

Scarlet plays Violet Rodriguez, your average teen who documents her every move on social media. When she stumbles upon the magical luchador mask, she becomes Ultra Violet and wants to advertise her new found powers online. The luchador mask isn’t unique to Violet as her luchador uncle, Cruz has been fighting crime as the superhero luchador Black Scorpion. He takes her under his wing for training in the ring, but she’s too eager to put herself on the streets so she can boast about it on social media. No doubt, this little superhero will face some big surprises in her eagerness.

Ultra Violet and Black Scorpion will debut on the Disney Channel Friday, June 3, and the series will also be available on Disney+ starting on June 8.
