Anthony Mackie and Chiwetel Ejiofor star as morally ambiguous characters in the gritty thriller TRIPLE 9, now on Digital Download and Blu-ray/DVD. The actors tell CineMovie why playing those type of roles are more fun than playing a straight up villain or hero.
Both Mackie and Ejiofor have transcended the color barrier when it comes to acting. Mackie balances his resume between independent films and blockbuster films as The Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe while Ejiofor is also known for his quality work (CHILDREN OF MEN, THE MARTIAN) and as a Best Actor Academy Award nominee for 12 YEARS A SLAVE (2013). Up next, Ejiofor is also joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a villain in DOCTOR STRANGE opposite his fellow countryman and thespian Benedict Cumberbatch.
Watch the interview in which both talk about playing characters and why Mackie compares acting to the show “Quantum Leap.”
