Marky Mark vs The Rock! Which PAIN & GAIN Star Bench Pressed The Most? (Video)

Anthony-Mackie-Miami-Premiere-450

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Mark Wahlberg, and Anthony Mackie pumped iron for their turn as bodybuilders in the new movie PAIN & GAIN.  Who benched the most weights?  PAIN & GAIN stars Anthony Mackie and Tony Shalhoub weigh in on the debate.

Pain-And-Gain-movie-stillCineMovie's Zay Zay caught up with Anthony Mackie and Tony Shalhoub to talk muscles on the red carpet of the Miami movie premiere of PAIN & GAIN.  Anthony Mackie plays real-life body builder turned extortionist Adrian Doorbal who was part of a kidnapping ring in Miami in the 1990s.  To play the bumbling body builders, Mackie and his co-stars Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson bulked up for their roles.  Watch trailer.

On the Miami red carpet premiere, Mackie tells Zay Zay he ate seven times a day, worked out twice in a day, and had to sleep eight hours every night during pre-production and on set. His meals consisted of brown rice, turkey burgers, and chicken breasts.  He gained 12 pounds of pure muscle for PAIN & GAIN.

Among the PAIN & GAIN cast, you would automatically think “The Rock” would win at the bench presses, but Mackie reveals that Marky Mark was actually the one who pumped the most iron at “420 something,” while Mackie got up to 385 pounds of weights.

If you ask Monk’s Tony Shalhoub, who plays one of the victims of the body builder’s plan, he was the strongest of the bunch.  “Take my word for it,” he joked with Zay Zay as he showed off his physique to our cameras.  “Say no more,” Shalhoub added.

PAIN & GAIN strong arms its way into theaters April 26, 2013.
