Zac Efron's Nerves Took Over In THE LORAX Recording Booth (Audio)

Zac Efron interview for Dr. Seuss The-Lorax
Zac Efron is no stranger to cameras, but when the teen hearthrob entered the voice-over booth for the first time for his role in DR. SEUSS' THE LORAX his nerves got the best of him.

Listen to interview below.

Zac Efron has appeared in over 29 films and television projects in his young career but when it came to his first animation project as a 12-year-old animated character in DR. SEUSS' THE LORAX. He admits he held back on the first day on the job because of his insecurities.
"I was nervous the first time. I was a bit self-conscious because there's a camera on you and the microphone is so close."
It wasn't until he saw a clip of his co-star Danny Devito acting like a "wild man" during his session as the Lorax that it clicked for Zac.  He knew he had to let go and let his wild side out as well.
"So the next time I went in I said 'screw it.' I'm going to be as crazy as possible and take it to the next level."
While in the voice-over booth, Zac recalled fond memories of his childhood (not too long ago).  The images of his parents reading the Dr. Seuss book to the young Zac were "frozen in his mind." He pictured his parents and where they stood in the room.

As an adult, Zac appreciates the message the book and the film conveys about the ecosystem and protecting it. The Lorax is the protector and guardian of the forest. This theme struck a cord with all of the actors involved including Zac who's conscious about being green but feels he's never doing enough.
"I'm always searching for a way to get more involved and to help. With this movie it felt like a really organic way to help get involved. It's a way through film to get the message out to kids, it just takes one seed and we're planting that seed."
DR. SEUSS' THE LORAX is in movie theatres March 2, 2012.
