Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, George Lopez, Twilight Saga: Eclipse and Burlesque are just a few possible candidates for the 31st Annual Razzie Movie Awards celebrating the worst films and performances of 2010.
2010 was a good year for really bad films and many have made the Razzie;s nominating ballots, according to The Envelope. The event which takes place February 24th has sent out members a shortlist of possible nominees that include The Bounty Hunter (Jennifer Aniston, Gerard Butler), Clash of the Titans (Sam Worthington), Sylvestor Stallone's The Expendables, Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin, Megan Fox), Grown Ups, Vampires Suck, Yogi Bear, Little Fockers, Sex and the City 2, Killers (Ashton Kutcher, Katherine Heigl), and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson) as options for the Worst Picture of the Year.
While Burlesque escaped the Worst Picture category, it has the dishonor of getting the most nominations with a worst performance Razzie for Christina Aguilera's feature film debut along with her co-stars Kristen Bell, Cam Gigandet and Cher for Worst Supporting Actor/Actress. Ouch! But that's not all. Burlesque director Steven Antin made the list for worst screenplay and worst director.
68th Annual Golden Globe Awards Nominations Announced
Other actors who didn't fare well in the Razzie acting categories include Jessica Alba for four films (Machete, The Killer Inside Me, Little Fockers, Valentine's Day), and Emily Blunt in The Wolfman and Gulliver's Travels.
This year's Razzie is multi-cultural as another Latino George Lopez joins the Razzie list with his performance in Marmaduke, The Spy Next Door, and Valentine's Day. We're glad to see Latinos are being included in something this year.
Christina Aguilera shouldn't be too sad for her possible nomination for Worst Actress since she will be sharing honors with A-lister Angelina Jolie for her work in The Tourist, being the only time both names will be in the same category for an award.
Spirit Award Nominees Announced
Past honors have been give to Halle Berry for Catwoman who gladly accepted the $4.95 spray painted gold trophy in person and last year Sandra Bullock did the same for her All About Steve performance the day before she won the Academy Award for The Blind Side.
Thankfully someone is also awarding Hollywood for their bad 3D movies. The Golden Rasberry Award aka Razzies added a new well-deserved category for Worst 3D Movie which has plenty to choose from with last year's find crop of three-dimensional headaches. Piranha 3D, The Nutcracker in 3D and Resident Evil: Afterlife made the cut.
The final list of Razzie nominations will be announced January 24th and the mock ceremony will be held the day before the Oscars on February 25th.
