Series and Movie Reviews
RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is a powerful movie. As someone who was raised with the Ape’s franchise I do not make this statement lightly. I hold this film to a very high standard and although there are a few things that I found fault with there is one scene that is so electric that the hair on my arms literally stood up. On this basis alone I recommend this film.
Add a commentBELLFLOWER is the story of a really bad break-up. If you take immaturity, alcohol and add a flamethrower, bad things are going to happen. Written, directed and starring Evan Glodell, this indiefilm is the apocalyptic tale of a relationship gone wrong. Completely made in true Indie fashion, BELLFLOWER was picked up for distribution at the Sundance Film Festival. It is a unique, self-styled love story with a take all its own. Like a car wreck it is hard to look away.
Add a commentWho doesn't want to see James Bond and Indiana Jones in a western stand-off with aliens? Jon Favreau's COWBOYS & ALIENS has a little something for everyone and it's not a sequel or superhero adaptation, so it's already off to a good start.
Add a commentThe wait is over. Are fans delighted or disappointed with Marvel's CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER directed by Joe Johnston?
Chris Evans stars as Steve Rogers, Captain America, but you get to know him as a Steve Rogers the wimpy kid who becomes a superhero. Did Chris deliver a worthy performance? What about the effects used to transform Steve Rogers from a runt into a hunk?

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER focuses on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. As Captain America, Rogers joins forces with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) to wage war on the evil HYDRA organization, led by the villainous Red Skull (Hugo Weaving.)
Add a commentHooray! The romantic comedy slump is over. FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS is smart, sexy, engaging and a lot of fun. And that’s just talking about the co-stars.
Add a commentAudiences should be tired of the onslaught of summer time superhero movies, and with CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER joining the crowded movie theaters this weekend, the pressure is on for the Marvel comic to deliver. Depending on who you talk to, you'll either love or just think it okay.

Animals giving dating advice to Kevin James? ZOOKEEPERS' premise is appropriate for taking the kiddies, but too weak for date night.
Add a commentDoes it really matter what critics or fans say? Audiences go to Transformers movies for the spectacle and that's what they can expect again the third time around with a much closer view in 3D.
