The full-length trailer for THE AVENGERS premiered on iTunes last week and in 24 hours broke iTunes record for most downloaded trailer with over 10 million downloads, shattering the most-viewed trailer record in iTunes history.

How can anyone not be excited after seeing a preview of director Joss  Whedon's union of Marvel super heroes. Captain America, Iron Man, The Hulk. Thor, Hawkeye, and Black Widow are the Avengers fighting against Thor's evil brother Loki.

Argentine Horror Import PHASE 7 on DVD and iTunes

Argentine horror flick PHASE 7 comes to DVD, iTunes, TV Video on Demand and other platforms on October 4, 2011. Heralded for its clever combination of humor and gore when it premiered at the SXSW, PHASE 7 mixes satire, humor, horror and social commentary in a way that reminds viewers of the arch SHAUN OF THE DEAD and the savvy claustrophobia of [rec].

The apocalyptic horror film, PHASE 7 was directed and written by Nicolás Goldbart; produced by Sebastian Aloi; executive produced by Steven Schneider (Insidious, Paranormal Activity). With a “top-notch” cast, the movie stars Daniel Hendler (LOST EMBRACE); Jazmín Stuart (THE PARANOIDS); Yayo Guridi (LOS RODRIGUEZ); and Federico Luppi (PAN’S LABYRINTH).

The film will be available through cable via video on demand (VOD) channels for PHASE 7, on Comcast, Time Warner, Cox, RCN, Verizon, Charter, Cablevision, and AT&T.

In the film, Coco (Hendler) has just moved to a new apartment with his wife Pipi (Stuart), who’s seven months pregnant.  At first, they don’t seem to notice the growing chaos around them, but when authorities quarantine their building after a deadly pandemic breaks out, Coco joins forces with his off-kilter but well-prepared and stocked next-door neighbor Horacio to defend his refrigerator and keep Pipi safe.
Meanwhile, outside the building, Buenos Aires—and the world as the apartment denizens know it, is disappearing. The world is ending; got ammo?

En Buenos Aires, una joven pareja vive su vida tranquilamente sin saber que dentro de muy poco tiempo el caos y el “sálvese quien pueda” serán las nuevas reglas del juego, cuando su edificio sea puesto en cuarentena y se transforme en un microcosmos espeluznante donde cada vecino puede ser un potencial aliado que nos salve la vida, o convertirse en nuestro verdugo. El filme, que nos remite a títulos del género como la divertida “Shaun of the Dead” o la reciente "REC", tiene sin embargo algunos componentes extra que la destacan y la convierten en una pieza única que combina la ficción apocalíptica, el thriller de suspenso, la comedia negra y algunas pinceladas de violencia escabrosa en su dosis justa.

Cuando Coco, interpretado por el uruguayo Daniel Hendler (“El abrazo partido”) y su novia embarazada de siete meses Pipi, encarnada por Jazmín Stuart (“The Paranoids”) se mudan a un nuevo apartamento, jamás podrían haber imaginado la aventura que les espera. Un día, sin mayor aviso, un equipo de funcionarios vestidos en trajes aislantes les informan a los habitantes del edificio que éste se encuentra en cuarentena debido al brote de un virus infeccioso que azota a la ciudad, y que deberán quedarse encerrados hasta nuevo aviso (el que, por otra parte, nunca llegará). Poco a poco las paranoias y psicosis de los habitantes comenzarán a salir a la superficie y asi empieza una batalla por la supervivencia donde el único aliado de Coco será su vecino Horacio, interpretado por un sorprendente Carlos “Yayo” Guridi que debuta en el cine encarnando a un memorable personaje, totalmente paranoico y conspirativo, quien alberga su propia teoría sobre la pandemia (según el, se trata de un complot de las multinacionales para diezmar a la población y poder así apoderarse de los recursos del planeta) y que toda su vida estuvo preparado para este momento, acopiando armas, alimentos, y todo el equipamiento necesario para la supervivencia.
