Review: Hulu's 'The Handmaid's Tale' Season 2

Hulu made the first six shows of the second season to watch for press members, and the first few shows are as equally binge-worthy as the first season. At the start of the show, June's outcome looks like a hopeful one. We last left the pregnant handmaid leaving the home of the Waterford's after Nick reported Fred Waterford's sexual extracurricular activities. The season 2 previews led us to believe that there's a ray of hope for June, but that's not the case in the first show of season two. As the show progresses, we're teased again with a thought of freedom. Viewers will be fully invested in seeing it through with June.

Season 2 spends a lot of time with Emily (Bledel) in the camps. Emily suffered in the hands of Eliad, but that's just the beginning of the horrors she will face. Women suffer extreme hardships at the camps digging holes in nuclear wasted soil without any protection. Like June's determination, Emily seems unbreakable, but the cruel workplace of the camps may end her life. We meet Marisa Tomei at the camps.

If the horrors against women in Handmaid's Tale season 1 depressed you, prepare to feel an extreme version of that feeling in the season 2 when things go very wrong for our heroines.

The first three shows of season 2 are currently streaming on Hulu with a new episode every week.
