Daniel Radcliffe Compares Harry Potter To Twilight's Edward Cullen

While Harry Potter fans are lining up to see the seventh film, HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOW PART 1  and anticipating the final film in 2011, Daniel Radcliffe, Emily Watson, and Rupert Grint have moved on from Hogwart students to adult roles after wrapping Part 2 of HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOW this summer.

VIDEO: Behind the Scenes

Daniel Radcliffe believes it is easy for him to move away from the role that made him famous at the age of 11.  The now 21 year-old believes the fascination with him is more about the "iconic role" rather than his persona.  If he had not been cast  as the wizard, the phenomena would've been the same with another person in the role.   He likens it to what Robert Pattinson is experiencing with the Twilight phenomena.

MOVIE TRAILER

Daniel met Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke who told him a story about how fans "went nuts" and screamed at the mention of the name Edward Cullen before they had cast the role.  "People are besot with that character," said Daniel.  "So whoever stepped into that role would have a crazy life."  Daniel thinks it didn't matter who had stepped into the role of Harry Potter and Edward Cullen, the reaction would have been the same.
