New 'The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping' Images and Featurette Reveal Fresh Look at the Second Quarter Quel

Fans of Panem have a new reason to get excited. Lionsgate has released a batch of new images from The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, along with a featurette packed with behind-the-scenes footage and fresh interviews from director Francis Lawrence, producer Nina Jacobson, and a first look at Ralph Fiennes, Glenn Close, Elle Fanning, Jesse Plemons, Mckenna Grace, and Kieran Culkin.

The featurette offers fans an early look at the ambitious adaptation of Sunrise on the Reaping, with the cast and filmmakers discussing the return to Panem and the emotional stakes of the story. The behind-the-scenes footage also showcases the film's large-scale production, new sets, and the darker tone surrounding the infamous Second Quarter Quell.

Set 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games, the film begins on the morning of the reaping for the 50th Hunger Games, a landmark event in Panem's history that forced twice as many tributes into the deadly arena.

Lawrence directs from a screenplay by Billy Ray and Michael Lesslie, based on the bestselling novel by Suzanne Collins. The ensemble cast also includes Maya Hawke, Whitney Peak, and Kelvin Harrison Jr..
