How Nick Castle Became Michael Myers

Halloween Michael Myers Nick Castle

Nick Castle donned the Michael Myers costume and mask by accident for John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN movies. At the 45th Halloween Convention in Pasadena over the weekend, Castle recounted how he got the job of the iconic serial killer in the 1978 movie.

Castle and Carpenter studied film at USC together. Castle explains in the video below how he walked on his friend's set and Carpenter surprised him with a request to wear the mask. And the rest is history.

Castle went on to co-write ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK with his friend Carpenter, and he also helmed THE LAST STARFIGHTER, MAJOR PAYNE and DENNIS THE MENACE. He donned the Michael Myers mask once again for the David Gordon Green trilogy starring Jamie Lee Curtis.
