Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis Campaign For Latino Vote

The Campaign'S Zach Galifianakis and Will Ferrell at Grove LA

Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis kicked off their mock campaign (The Whistle Stop Tour) at The Grove in Los Angeles to promote their upcoming comedy, THE CAMPAIGN and Cinemovie was there for the first-stop in their 11-city tour.

Watch video below.

Both actors stood behind two debate-like podiums and focused on their roles as out-of-control political rivals. Their improvised banter and over-the-top responses really showcased the comedic-candy they'll bring to the big screen. Ferrell began the event by thanking everyone for coming out to the “historic” Grove.   “Where even the homeless people are fake," added Galifianakis.  The faux candidates joked with fans and fielded questions at a press conference that focused on their roles as out-of-control political rivals in the irreverent new comedy THE CAMPAIGN. The event launches an 11-city whistle- stop tour of public appearances that will travel the two across North America from now until Tuesday, July 31.

THE CAMPAIGN Heats Up With New Movie Posters

Will:  I would do exactly what the congress people are doing right now. Nothing. I'd just hang out in Washington, and go to great restaurants.

Zach:  Maybe go a ribbon cutting at Arby's or Six Flags. Make it legal to take a left on a red.

Will:  I think that's on the ballot this year. Prop 89: Left on red.

Ferrell then began a ridiculously hilarious chant:

Will:  Left on Red! Left on Red!

Everyone at the event began chanting it back proudly.  It was Cinemovie's turn to put them on the hot seat.  How are the candidates planning on getting the Latino vote?

Will:  Zach and I have been spending a lot of time with Ricky Martin lately.  Zach?

Zach:  We were at Carlos Santana’s house last night. We've been eating a lot of Poquito Mas.

The Whistle Stop Tour continued to Dallas/Ft. Worth, and on Thursday, July 19, they will campaign in Chicago and Seattle; and on Friday, July 20, in San Francisco. The second leg will then take them to Boston and Toronto on Monday, July 30; and on Tuesday, July 31, appropriately enough, they will wrap with visits to Philadelphia and Washington, D.C

Cast your votes for THE CAMPAIGN starting Friday, August 10, 2012.
