A new chapter in the Star Wars saga has officially begun. Lucasfilm announced today that production is underway in the U.K. on STAR WARS: STARFIGHTER, the highly anticipated standalone film directed by Shawn Levy (DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE).
Alongside the previously announced Ryan Gosling (BARBIE), the cast features an impressive lineup: Flynn Gray, Matt Smith (House of the Dragon), Mia Goth (Maxine), Aaron Pierre (REBEL RIDGE), Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings, and Amy Adams (MAN OF STEEL).
A New Era in the Galaxy Far, Far Away
Unlike previous entries in the franchise, Starfighter promises a completely original story, set in a never-before-seen era of the Star Wars timeline. Fans can mark their calendars—the film is scheduled to hit theaters May 28, 2027.

The film is being produced by Shawn Levy and Kathleen Kennedy, with Ryan Gosling, Dan Levine, Mary McLaglen, and Josh McLaglen serving as executive producers. The script comes from Jonathan Tropper, adding further weight to the creative team.
