Before social media could turn young performers into overnight sensations, Timbiriche created its own brand of viral fame. Now, the story behind one of Latin America’s most beloved pop groups is coming to ViX in a new original series inspired by true events.

The new trailer for Timbiriche takes viewers back to the 1980s and the beginnings of the Mexican pop phenomenon, following a group of young performers as they go from rehearsals and auditions to packed venues, magazine covers and becoming idols to millions of fans.

But the series promises to explore what happened away from the screaming crowds as well. As the group’s popularity explodes, its young members face the pressures of fame, changing friendships, rivalries, new additions to the band and the demands of growing up in the public eye.

Timbiriche also became a launching pad for some of Latin entertainment’s biggest stars. Its most famous alumni include Thalía, Paulina Rubio, Sasha Sokol, Benny Ibarra, Erik Rubín and Eduardo Capetillo, who went on to successful careers in music, television and film.

With an elaborate recreation of the 1980s, Timbiriche looks to tap into that nostalgia while introducing a new generation to the young performers behind the pop phenomenon.

Produced by EL ESTUDIO, the series comes from producers Pablo Cruz and Enrique Lavigne and director Beto Hinojosa.

Timbiriche premieres October 9 exclusively on ViX, with new episodes arriving every Friday.
