The new trailer for Marvel Television’s VisionQuest has arrived, and Vision isn’t the only member of the family making a return. The Disney+ series introduces Thomas Shepherd, a mysterious teenager who may be the reincarnation of Vision’s son, Tommy.
Paul Bettany returns as Vision, who has been rebooted and is now hiding from those who sought to weaponize him. While searching for a new purpose, Vision turns to the AI personalities embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S. and, most dangerously, Ultron, once again played by James Spader.
Vision’s quiet existence doesn’t last long. A bounty placed on his head sends him on the run alongside Thomas Shepherd (Ruaridh Mollica), whose identity could finally reconnect Vision to the family he lost.
So How Is Thomas Shepherd Vision’s Son?
WandaVision introduced Wanda and Vision’s twin sons, Billy and Tommy, who were created within Wanda’s Hex in Westview. The boys disappeared when Wanda brought down the Hex in the series finale, seemingly ending their brief existence.
But Billy found a way back. Agatha All Along revealed that Billy’s soul survived and took over the body of William Kaplan, becoming Billy Maximoff once again.
Now VisionQuest appears poised to explore the other half of the mystery.
Thomas Shepherd may be the reincarnation of Tommy Maximoff, which would make him the spiritual continuation of Wanda and Vision’s other son. However, Vision doesn’t necessarily know who Thomas really is, setting up a potentially emotional father-son story as the two attempt to unravel the teenager’s true identity.
The storyline also brings VisionQuest full circle with WandaVision, while potentially putting another piece of Marvel’s next generation into place.
VisionQuest stars Paul Bettany, James Spader, Ruaridh Mollica, Todd Stashwick, T’Nia Miller, Lauren Morais, Orla Brady, Diane Morgan, Polly Frame, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, Emily Hampshire and James D’Arcy.
The series premieres exclusively on Disney+ October 14 and concludes the trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along.
