Apple TV+'s Severance led in wins at the second night of the 2nd Annual HC TV awards Streaming Edition with five wins including a win for Ben Stiller for directing in a streaming service. Hulu's Dopesick followed with four statues, one going to Michael Keaton for Best Actor and Hacks scored three wins. Brett Goldstein won for Ted Lasso, Martin Short for Only Murders in the Building, Pam & Tommy and Netflix's Squid Game also received top honors. See the complete list of winners.

The Hollywood Critics Association announced the hosts for the upcoming 2022 HCA TV Awards on Saturday, August 13 and Sunday, August 14. The Daily Show with Trevor Noah correspondent Dulcé Sloan will host the first night which is dedicated Broadcast & Cable while stand-up comic, actor and writer Tig Notaro will host night two dedicated to the streaming categories. The press release also announced Mandy Moore will be honored this year with the Virtuoso Award on Saturday. The HCA has also partnered with Petco Love and Big Love Animal Rescue for a two-night adoption event at the HCA TV Awards. See the press release below.

The most talked-about moment from the 94th Academy Award won't be who won but the moment when Chris Rock insulted Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith went on stage and smacked the comedian squarely on the face. The broadcast went silent and words were exchanged but Australian audiences' broadcast was not muted. Will Smith went on to win the Best Actor Oscar, and tearfully accepted while apologizing to the room and the Academy for his outburst. However here are the winners (in bold) for the night.

A star-studded ceremony celebrated the best in film at the 5th Annual HCA Film Awards. Andrew Garfield (tick, tick…BOOM!) and Kristen Stewart (SPENCER) took home the Best Actor and Actress award with AppleTV+'s CODA movie taking home the Best Picture statue. Nominations for the 36th annual Imagen Awards were announced, and the nominees include last year's Oscar snub La Llorona, the Walter Mercado Netflix documentary, Selena: The Series, Mayans M.C., and many others. Actors in the running include Jay Hernandez, Rita Moreno, Demian Bichir, Eiza Gonzales, Alicia Braga, Salma Hayek, Anya Taylor Johnson, and Pose's MJ Rodriguez. The award show honors the best in Latino talent in film, television, and streaming.

On Thursday, the Hollywood Critics Association announced the nominees for the 1st Annual HCA TV Awards to be held on August 22. HBO, NBC, and Netflix came out on top with nearly 30 nominations followed by Apple TV, HBO Max, and Disney+.

In addition to films, the Hollywood Critics Association will be expanding into television and recognizing talent in that field with a television awards ceremony to be held late summer of 2021. On Wednesday, the critics group released the announcement along with the categories for the award show.

For the first time, two women are nominated in the Best Director and Best Picture categories while three Asian-Americans were included in the prestigious Academy Award nominations this year. Hollywood is definitely making strides in diversifying in front and behind the cameras, but sadly there's more work to be done for Latinos who were completely shut out when Guatemala's entry LA LLORONA, a powerful film about genocide, was snubbed.
