Rocker-turned-filmmaker Rob Zombie brings us another horror flick with THE LORDS OF SALEM, starring his muse and wife Sheri Moon Zombie as a radio DJ who unwittingly unleashes the ghosts of Salem, Massachusetts.
Rob Zombie partners with producers of Insidious and Paranormal Activity for his sixth directorial effort with THE LORDS OF SALEM. The collaboration shows between the producers behind the indie hits and the writer/director in the second trailer which is very tamed in comparison to Zombie's previous gory, sexually charged films. Is he going to old-fashioned scare rather than a hack 'em up fest?
This time, Zombie's horror fest revolves around witchcraft in Salem, Massachusetts with his wife Sherri playing the lead character Heidi, a radio DJ who receives a gift from "the Lords" which trigger flashbacks to the town's brutal past. The Lords return to Salem to enact revenge for the sins of the past.
THE LORDS OF SALEM had its first premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in 2012 and is headed to South By Southwest (SXSW)'s Midnighters program in March before opening April 19, 2013.
