Kristen Stewart's Snow White Moves Up To Summer 2012

Kristin Stewart's Snow White film has moved up its release date to the summer of 2012, beating out Julia Roberts' Snow White remake into movie theaters.

The Twilight actress stars in SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN alongside Academy Award® winner Charlize Theron as the evil queen, Thor's Chris Hemsworth, and newcomer Sam Claflin of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides for the summer release.

Originally slated for December 2012, the Rupert Sanders-directed film adjusted it's production schedule to meet a June 1, 2012 release date, according to Universal Pictures. Universal now has the leg up on it's competition with Relativity Media whose own Snow White remake based on the Brothers Grimm story is slated for a June 29, 2012 release. Julia Roberts is set to play the evil queen while Phil Collin's daughter Lily Collins (The Blind Side) won the role of the 'fairest one of all' in Tarsem Singh's 3-D The Brothers Grimm: Snow White.

In SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN, Stewart plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Theron) who is out to destroy her.  But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the one girl threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Hemsworth) who was dispatched to kill her.  Claflin plays the prince long enchanted by Snow White's beauty and power.
