Big Surprises For Academy Award Nominations - See Complete List

The actor categories also had some nice surprises with Bridesmaid's Melissa McCarthy, Demian Bichir (A Better Life), Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and Jonah Hill (Moneyball) becoming first-time Oscar nominees.

Moneyball and War Horse are also top contenders with 6 nominations each including actor noms for Brad Pitt in the Best Actor category and a Best Supporting nomination for raunchy comedy alum Jonah Hill.

The award nominations were announced Tuesday morning by last year's Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence and Academy President Tom Sherak. The winners will be announced during the 84th Academy Awards live telecast Sunday, February 26 starting at 4pm PST on ABC.
