In a unique livestream event, Marvel Studios revealed the star-studded cast for AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY, scheduled for release on May 1, 2026. The event featured a gradual unveiling of twenty-seven primary cast members by showcasing director's chairs labeled with each actor's name.
Plot and Production Details
The film, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, aims to intertwine various superhero teams and iconic characters, setting the stage for a complex and thrilling narrative. The storyline is expected to involve multiverse elements, with Doctor Doom (Robert Downey, Jr.) playing a central role as the antagonist. The brother directing team will also direct AVENGERS: SECRET WARS (in theaters May 7, 2027), according to Marvel.com.
Production is set to commence in London next month.
In the upcoming Marvel film, AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY, the ensemble cast features a blend of returning Avengers and new characters joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
