Ghostface is back and targeting a new set of teens in the next installment of SCREAM. Woodsboro has changed and this time there are more diverse bodies to kill off. Sadly it looks like one of the Latina actresses in the movie, Jenna Ortega is getting the Drew Barrymore treatment as the first victim. We also see the return of Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette, and they're not taking it anymore.
Along with the original cast, Melissa Barrera (Vida, IN THE HEIGHTS) looks to be one of the main characters along with Dylan Minnette, Jack Quaid (The Boys) and some new faces.
The first preview gives away a lot with a recreation of the first scene that opened the original SCREAM (1996) with a victim getting an updated axing in her own home. Is the killer looking to imitate the original killers?
Directed by READY OR NOT directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, we're hoping this revival will be worth the scream when it opens in January of 2022.
Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past. Neve Campbell (“Sidney Prescott”), Courteney Cox (“Gale Weathers”) and David Arquette (“Dewey Riley”) return to their iconic roles in Scream alongside Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Sonia Ammar.
