Making of 'Missing' Movie: How The Filmmakers Recreated the Internet

Storm Reid stars in Missing

From the producers of SEARCHING, comes another detective story told through a computer and phone screen with MISSING starring Storm Reid and Nia Long. Co-director Nicholas D. Johnson and producer Natalia Qasabian describe what it was like making the movie which is more complicated than your average live-action film.

Directors Nick Johnson and Will Merrick were promoted from editors on SEARCHING with John Cho to directors on MISSING by SEARCHING filmmakers Sev Ohanian & Aneesh Chaganty.

The modern-day detective story relies on Storm Reid's June character's computer screen. June's tech-savvy internet skills come in handy to track down her missing mother and new boyfriend after vacationing in Colombia. Stuck thousands of miles away in Los Angeles, June creatively uses all the latest technology at her fingertips to try and find her before it’s too late. But as she digs deeper, her digital sleuthing raises more questions than answers...and when June unravels secrets about her mom, she discovers that she never really knew her at all.

MISSING premieres in movie theaters on January 20.
