Sam Raimi Interview: Director Talks 'Crawl,' Alligators and Horror Movies

Iconic filmmaker Sam Raimi (EVIL DEAD, SPIDER-MAN) is a producer on CRAWL, a horror movie in which a father and daughter must survive alligators and a Category 5 Hurricane. We went to the LA Zoo with the CRAWL producers Sam Raimi and Craig Flores to talk alligators and what makes a good horror movie.

CRAWL stars Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper as a father and daughter who must survive a Category 5 Hurricane and a flooded neighborhood with alligators looking for their next kill.

Paramount Pictures found it fitting to hold the CRAWL press event at the Los Angeles Zoo with a demonstration of the apex predator's eating habits with Reggie and Tina, the dangerous reptiles who reside at the zoo. Afterwards, Reggie sat behind Raimi and Flores as we interviewed them. He was very polite and didn't eat us.

CRAWL is now playing in movie theaters and bound to be this summer's sleeper hit.
