La India Maria’s Last Film Airs on CineLatino For Mexican Independence Day

Maria Elena Velasco’s La India Maria will forever be remembered as an iconic figure in Mexican film and television, and luckily for her fans, she graced us with her hilarious character one more time before her death earlier this year. After being absent for 15 years from the big screen, Velasco returned in LA HIJA DE MOCTEZUMA as La India Maria. LA HIJA DE MOCTEZUMA is hitting CineLatino just in time for Mexico’s Independence Day, on Sept. 16 for a pre-premiere. Judging from the trailer below, Velasco has no problem getting into character as they spoof classic American films like the Matrix and Indiana Jones.
Velasco’s son, Iván Lipkies directed LA HIJA DE MOCTEZUMA. The movie will be officially released on September 20.
