EXTREMELY LOUD & INCREDIBLY CLOSE opened in limited release in December but is now expanding nationwide January 20th. Based on the acclaimed novel of the same name, EXTREMELY LOUD & INCREDIBLY CLOSE stars Sandra Bullock, Tom Hanks, The Help's Viola Davis, and James Gandolfini ("The Sopranos") in a story of one young boy’s journey from heartbreaking loss to self-discovery, set against the backdrop of the tragic events of September 11.
Thomas Horn is an eleven-year-old exceptional child and amateur inventor. After finding a mysterious key that belonged to his father played by Tom Hanks, who died in the World Trade Center on 9/11, he embarks on an urgent, secret search through the five boroughs of New York. As Oskar roams the city, he encounters a variety of individuals, all survivors in their own way including Max Von Sydow's mute character.
