fruitvale_station_movie_PosterFRUITVALE STATION follows the victim during that fateful day as he contemplates his life after losing his job. His love for his mother, child and girlfriend keep Oscar from returning to his previous life as a pot dealer, but the temptation is all around him.  Actors Kevin Durand (Noah, X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and Chad Michael Murray make cameos as the BART police officers involved with the shooting.

FRUITVALE STATION is gaining recognition at film festivals including the 2013 Cannes Film Festival where it was awarded for Best First Film. At Sundance earlier this year, Ryan Coogler's first film won both the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award for U.S. dramatic film. Forest Whitaker produces the film from first-time filmmaker Coogler who hails from Oakland like the main character.

FRUITVALE STATION opens in limited theaters July 21 and July 19, expanding into a wide release July 26.
