Robert DeNiro and Michelle Pfeiffer make a great looking married couple is the new movie, THE FAMILY. The two head up a family of misfits causing trouble in Italy as they hide out from the mob under the Witness Protection Program. Directed by Luc Besson, this off-beat comedy looks like a riot, with DeNiro proving he's still got it. Preview the new trailer and the new one-sheet of THE FAMILY.
THE FAMILY is brought to us from the director who gifted us with the Transporter (Jason Statham), The Fifth Element (Bruce Willis) and The Professional (Jean Reno, Natalie Portman) so we have high hopes for this film with a great filmmaker and an entertaining cast behind it. In THE FAMILY, Robert DeNiro's character Fred Manzoni ratted out his mob bosses so now he and wife Michelle Pfeiffer ("Maggie") are on the lam with their two teen kids in a small town in France where they can't help but bring attention to themselves. And then the mob finds them. Tommy Lee Jones as usual plays the straight-laced FBI agent helping the Manzoni's blend in but he's not doing such a great job. Glee's Dianna Agron joins the top cast as the troubled and violent daughter.THE FAMILY has no release date yet, but it's set for the Fall.
Official Movie Synopsis:
"THE FAMILY", formerly titled "Malavita". Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer star in this off-beat action comedy by Luc Besson as Fred and Maggie Manzoni--a mafia boss and his wife who recently snitched on the mob. They are relocated with their children to a sleepy town in France under the witness protection program, but despite their best efforts to fit in, the Manzoni family blows their cover by handling their problems the "family" way.
Based on the novel "Malavita" by Tonino Benacquista, THE FAMILY also stars Tommy Lee Jones, Dianna Agron and John D'Leo.
