In the teaser trailer for WHITE HOUSE DOWN, Channing Tatum was definitely the action hero of the film, but the latest trailer for the Roland Emmerich movie has Jamie Foxx as the President of the United States proving he's not just somebody to protect.

white_house_one_sheetNow that's quite a job interview. Channing Tatum walks into the White House to apply as a secret service agent, but he is denied the job. As he is leaving the President's house with his daughter, paramilitary insurgents take down the White House and the DC Capitol Policeman springs into action to save his kid and the President of the United States played by Jamie Foxx.  Can we bet that Tatum gets the job as a secret service agent after all this?  Hopefully, it's a better twist than that predictable ending.

It's hard not to draw comparisons with Olympus Has Fallen, but in Roland Emmerich (2012, Independence Day) fashion, the film has plenty more destruction and fire.  The foreign-born director loves blowing up national monuments, but especially Washington D.C. buildings.

We have to admit, its cooler having Jamie Foxx as the United States leader, especially after seeing him play a slave in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained.  But what's with Foxx's outlined lips that resemble Barack Obama's pout?  There's no doubt the current President is an influence on Foxx's character, but its strange seeing some resemblance with the grown out hair.  Except this president dons glasses.

Besides Foxx and Tatum, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke, Richard Jenkins, and James Woods also star in WHITE HOUSE DOWN opening June 28.

In Columbia Pictures’ White House Down, Capitol Policeman John Cale (Channing Tatum) has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx). Not wanting to let down his little girl with the news, he takes her on a tour of the White House, when the complex is overtaken by a heavily armed paramilitary group. Now, with the nation’s government falling into chaos and time running out, it's up to Cale to save the president, his daughter, and the country.
