Dwayne Johnson's BLACK ADAM has been in the works for a while, and now we're getting a first look at the Rock as the DC anti-hero, and the actor announced his Justice Society of America (JSA) team including Netflix darling Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher.
Johnson talked about BLACK ADAM with a lot of enthusiasm, and he revealed much about the character including claiming he's the most powerful in the DC universe. He compared Black Adam to Superman in powers and abilities but a big difference is Adam doesn't practice restraint. He says he's the only superhero with origins as a slave which should make for an interesting backstory.
Johnson first introduced his costar Noah Centineo who will be playing Atom Smasher who seems to have the same abilities as Ant-Man but without a suit. Noah is currently in training on a tarmac building bulk for his sizable role.
Johnson completed the DC Fandome panel with new of the JSA team members joining the movie. Besides Atom Smasher, Hawkman, Dr. Fate and Cyclone will complete Black Adam's superhero circle. Concept art introduced the characters, but other actors playing the other roles have not been announced.
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (JUNGLE CRUISE, THE SHALLOWS) BLACK ADAM is slated for December 22, 2021, if all goes as planned given the current pandemic. They have not started production on the film yet.
